Choosing a Google Ads agency should be simple, but the UK market runs from one person consultancies to Premier Partners managing tens of millions of pounds of ad spend, and most of them do not publish what they charge. A good agency manages your budget as carefully as you would, to profit rather than clicks, and leaves you owning the account if you ever part ways.
This guide profiles ten UK Google Ads agencies, from specialist PPC teams to integrated performance agencies. For each one we checked the agency's own website on 1 October 2026 for its location, Google Partner status and proof of results, and, because so few agencies show it, whether it publishes a price.
A note on our own position. Why Matters is a Shopify agency that manages Google Ads, so we appear in this list, first and labelled as our agency. The other nine follow alphabetically, in the same format and against the same criteria. Details come from each agency's own website and review profiles, so check them before you shortlist, because services and fees change.
The best Google Ads agency depends on your budget and what sits around the ads. For Shopify and ecommerce brands that want Shopping, Performance Max and the store fixed together, Why Matters is built for that. One PPC and PPC Geeks suit smaller budgets and publish prices, Push, Impression and Hallam suit larger budgets and several markets, JDR Group suits B2B SMEs using HubSpot, Bind Media pairs paid media with landing pages, and Digital Gearbox and Herdl suit SMEs wanting a specialist team. Shortlist three, ask each to audit your account, and get the ownership terms in writing.
We looked for six things and held our own entry to the same test: a UK base, Google Ads as a core service, published proof such as case studies, Google Partner status where displayed, independent reviews, and openness about fees and account ownership. Every fact below comes from the agency's own website or a public review profile, checked on 1 October 2026.
Google Partner status counted in an agency's favour but was not required. Google says Premier Partners must rank in the top 3% of participating companies in their country, judged on factors such as client growth, client retention and annual ad spend, and the Google Partners Directory tells advertisers to do their own checks rather than treat a listing as an endorsement. A badge shows scale on the platform; it does not tell you who will run your account, what it costs or whether you keep the account when you leave.

Location: Brighton. Specialism: Google Ads for Shopify and ecommerce stores, including Shopping, Performance Max, Search and Merchant Centre. Google status: we do not claim Google Partner status; we are a Shopify Select, Klaviyo, Recharge, Awin, Meta and TikTok partner. Published price: from £650 a month plus VAT. Notable clients: Halo Coffee, Gunna. Website: Why Matters PPC agency.
Why Matters is a Shopify agency and PPC agency that manages Google Ads against a profit target rather than clicks. Because we also build and run Shopify stores, we can fix the product feed, Merchant Centre, the tracking or the landing page when the numbers point there, instead of only changing bids. Management is billed one month in arrears with no long contract, and our Clutch profile shows a 4.9 rating from 15 reviews.
Every Why Matters client owns its own Google Ads account. We work through manager access to an account the business controls, so if a client leaves, the campaigns and the history stay with them. That matters, because 95% of the accounts we inherit were owned by the previous agency or freelancer rather than the merchant. When we audit a new client's account, an average of 30% of spend is wasted, and across the accounts we manage, cost per acquisition falls by an average of 45% in the first 90 days.
Best for: Shopify and ecommerce brands that want Google Ads managed to profit by a team that can also fix the store, the feed and the tracking.
Location: Bath. Specialism: specialist paid media, Google Ads and Search Ads 360. Google status: Google Premier Partner. Published price: not published; you request a proposal. Notable clients: heycar, Pet Drugs Online, Furniture Online, Field Doctor. Website: Bind Media website.

Its published results include an 87% increase in ROAS for Furniture Online and an 81% increase in revenue for Pet Drugs Online. Pricing comes as a proposal rather than a published fee.
Best for: brands wanting a specialist paid media team that also handles landing pages and measurement.

Website: Digital Gearbox website.
Digital Gearbox is a specialist PPC agency that has worked in paid media since 2013. It runs Google Ads on a rolling monthly agreement, though it recommends at least three months of activity before judging results. Its published Restorate case study shows Performance Max lifting ROAS from 3.29 to 7.97, and its Google Ads work serves both ecommerce brands and B2B lead generation.
Best for: SMEs wanting a specialist PPC team on a rolling contract.
Location: Nottingham and London. Specialism: paid media inside a full digital agency covering SEO, UX, brand and web design. Google status: Google Premier Partner. Published price: not published. Notable clients: Internet Reptile. Website: Hallam website.
Hallam has worked in digital marketing since 2000 and says Google recognises it among the top 3% of UK agencies. Its paid media team works alongside SEO, UX and web design, and it sells audits, training and consulting as well as full management, which suits in house teams wanting expert support rather than a full handover. Its Internet Reptile case study describes setting different Target ROAS goals by brand according to margin.
Best for: mid sized and larger businesses wanting Google Ads inside a wider digital programme, or audits and consulting for an in house team.
Location: Nottingham and London. Specialism: PPC and SEO for SMEs. Google status: says it has been a Google Partner since 2013. Published price: not on the website; prices are in a brochure you download. Notable clients: The Speakers Agency. Website: Herdl website.
Herdl pairs paid search with SEO, which suits businesses that want both channels moving together. Its Google Ads packages cover management only, with the ad budget set by the client and paid directly to Google. On its Clutch profile, PPC makes up 40% of its service mix, and reviewers single out its value for money and its habit of explaining technical topics without jargon.
Best for: SMEs wanting PPC and SEO from one team.
Location: Nottingham, London and Manchester, plus New York. Specialism: performance marketing across PPC, Shopping, paid social, programmatic, measurement and CRO. Google status: Google Premier Partner. Published price: not on its website. Notable clients: Cancer Research UK, Topps Tiles, Marmalade. Website: Impression website.
Impression is an independent, owner operated agency with a dedicated Google Shopping service and a measurement team. That suits larger programmes, where Google Ads sits alongside analytics, experimentation and creative. Its own site does not publish a fee, though its Clutch profile lists retained services from $5,000 a month.
Best for: larger ecommerce and consumer brands wanting Google Ads inside a measurement led performance team.
Location: Derby. Specialism: full service marketing for SMEs, including PPC, HubSpot and inbound. Google status: Google Partner since 2008. Published price: not published for Google Ads; it publishes a budgeting guide and calculator. Notable clients: IC2 CCTV. Website: JDR Group website.
JDR Group says it has helped more than 3,000 businesses, and its Google Ads service covers Shopping, Microsoft Ads, remarketing, Display and YouTube alongside Search. Its PPC sits inside a wider sales and marketing service, which suits B2B firms where campaigns feed a CRM. Its pricing guide explains that programmes are tailored and offers a budget calculator rather than a fixed PPC fee, and its starter packages do not include Google Ads.
Best for: B2B SMEs wanting PPC tied to HubSpot, CRM and inbound marketing.

Google status: more than seven years as a Google Ads Partner. Published price: from £360 a month. Notable clients: Rattan Direct, Helpful Holidays, The Vet. Website: One PPC website.
One PPC publishes its full price list. Its Local Business package costs £360 a month for ad spend under £3,000, Small Business costs £450 for ad spend under £5,000 and includes ecommerce, Growing Business costs £720 with no ad spend limit, and there is a custom tier or an hourly rate of £90 plus VAT. It runs on a rolling monthly subscription and asks for partner access to your existing Google Ads account at onboarding, so the account stays yours.
Best for: small UK businesses wanting a clear published price and a low entry point.
Location: Liverpool, Knutsford, London and Kendal. Specialism: specialist PPC across Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, LinkedIn and TikTok. Google status: Google Premier Partner. Published price: from £450 a month. Notable clients: Patrol Store, Whisky Online, Natural Nutrients. Website: PPC Geeks website.
PPC Geeks publishes three packages: £450 a month for ad spend up to £1,500 with a £375 setup fee, £795 a month for ad spend up to £3,000 with a £375 setup fee, and advanced management from £1,295 a month with a £2,000 setup fee. The higher tiers add competitor analysis, a dedicated client manager, review calls, and enhanced conversions with consent mode. It promises no long term tie ins and offers free audits.
Best for: businesses wanting a specialist PPC team with published packages.
Location: London, with offices in Athens and Dubai. Specialism: paid search, paid social and media buying at scale, with an AI led approach. Google status: Google Premier Partner and Microsoft Advertising Elite Channel Partner. Published price: not published; it quotes on effort for ad budgets of £10,000 to £350,000 a month. Notable clients: Missoma, Clarks, BRITA, Finisterre. Website: Push website.
Push says it manages more than £50 million of ad spend a year. Rather than a set package, it builds a bespoke price around the time your objectives need, which suits large accounts where spend alone is a poor guide to workload. Its published Google Ads work includes a UK cleanroom manufacturer that cut cost per lead by 51%.
Best for: larger advertisers with budgets of £10,000 a month or more, or campaigns across several markets.
Of the ten agencies here, three publish a monthly Google Ads management price on their own websites: One PPC, PPC Geeks and Why Matters. Push and Digital Gearbox publish how they price or the ad budget they expect, Herdl keeps its prices in a brochure you download, JDR Group publishes a budgeting guide and calculator rather than a PPC fee, and Bind Media, Hallam and Impression price by proposal. We checked each agency's website on 1 October 2026.
A published price is a starting point, not a like for like comparison. One PPC's £360 tier is for accounts spending under £3,000 a month on ads, PPC Geeks' £450 tier covers ad spend up to £1,500 and adds a £375 setup fee, and our £650 is scoped to the account and billed one month in arrears. Ad spend is paid to Google separately in every case, so ask each agency for the total monthly cost at your budget, including setup, tracking and feed work. For the wider market, see how much a PPC agency costs in the UK.
Shortlist three agencies and ask each the same questions. The answers tell you more than any badge.
Your business should. Google's manager accounts let an agency run your account from its own login, and Google says that linking an agency's manager account to an account you already have leaves your account unchanged, its history intact and your users' sign in and permissions the same. The agency does not get administrative ownership unless you turn it on, so removing the agency later costs you nothing.
The risk is the other route. Google also lets an agency create new Google Ads accounts inside its own manager account, linked to it automatically, and if nobody at your business has Admin access, the account can effectively belong to the agency. That is the pattern we see most: 95% of the accounts we inherit were owned by the previous agency or freelancer rather than the merchant. Every Why Matters client owns its own account, and we manage it through manager access.
To check, open Google Ads, go to Admin, then Access and security, and make sure a login your business controls has Admin access; Google's access levels run from Admin and Standard down to Read only, Email only and Billing. The Managers tab shows which agency manager accounts are linked. Repeat the check for Merchant Centre, GA4 and Tag Manager, which Shopping depends on, as our Google Shopping for Shopify guide explains.
UK agencies charge for Google Ads management in three main ways. A flat monthly fee, as One PPC, PPC Geeks and Why Matters publish, gives a predictable cost. A percentage of ad spend scales with your budget: PPC Geeks pricing guide puts common UK rates at 10% to 20%, so £20,000 of monthly spend at 15% means a £3,000 fee. Effort based or hybrid pricing, which Push uses, quotes on the time your account needs.
Our research into 30 UK PPC providers on 22 September 2026 found 25 that published a monthly starting price, from £145 to £1,500, with a median of £650 and the middle half between about £380 and £850. These are published entry prices from that sample, not a market average, and the full breakdown is in our UK PPC agency cost research.
Whatever the model, ad spend is paid directly to Google on top of the fee. Add setup charges, tracking work and feed fixes before comparing quotes, and ask what the fee becomes as your budget grows, because entry tiers often cap the ad spend they cover.
Most of the Google Ads problems we inherit are not bidding problems. This year the most common is broken conversion tracking, and the worst case was a freelancer run account that counted every purchase twice, so the ROAS in the client's own KPI report was double the real figure. Next come accounts the merchant does not own, Shopping feeds full of disapproved products, and Performance Max spending in the wrong places. One client's Performance Max campaign was spending 65% of its budget on brand searches before it came to us; after we added brand exclusions, first time customers rose 52% the following month.
That is why we put ourselves first for Shopify and ecommerce brands: the fix often sits in the feed, the tracking or the product page rather than the campaign settings, and we can make it. It is also why we are not right for everyone. For a small local Search campaign at the lowest fee, One PPC is cheaper, and for six figures a month across several markets, Push or Impression have more scale. We work to a floor of at least 2x ROAS, our clients own their accounts, and we bill one month in arrears with no long contract.
What does a Google Ads agency do?
A Google Ads agency plans, builds, manages and improves your campaigns on Google's ad platforms. Depending on the agency, that covers Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube and Display, plus Merchant Centre, conversion tracking, reporting and landing page advice.
How much does a Google Ads agency cost in the UK?
In our review of 30 UK PPC providers on 22 September 2026, 25 published a monthly starting price, ranging from £145 to £1,500 with a median of £650. In this guide, One PPC starts at £360, PPC Geeks at £450 plus a setup fee and Why Matters at £650 plus VAT, with ad spend paid to Google separately.
Which Google Ads agencies publish their prices?
Of the ten agencies in this guide, three publish a monthly management price: One PPC, PPC Geeks and Why Matters. Push publishes its pricing model and budget range, Digital Gearbox a minimum ad budget, Herdl a downloadable brochure and JDR Group a budget calculator, while Bind Media, Hallam and Impression price by proposal.
What is a Google Premier Partner?
Google Partners are agencies that manage Google Ads for other businesses and meet Google's programme requirements. Premier Partners must also rank in the top 3% of participating companies in their country each year, based on factors such as client growth, client retention and ad spend.
Who should own my Google Ads account?
Your business should, with its own Admin login. Google says linking an agency's manager account to your existing account leaves your account and its history unchanged and does not give the agency administrative ownership by default.
Should I hire a Google Ads agency or a freelancer?
Choose on the skills you need rather than the label. A strong freelancer can outperform an agency on a focused account, while an agency helps when you need cover, several specialists, or Merchant Centre, feeds and tracking handled alongside the campaigns.
Do not hire the first agency with a Premier Partner badge, and do not automatically hire the cheapest. Shortlist three, give each the same information about your budget, margins, results and tracking, and ask who runs the account, how success is measured, what the fee covers and who owns the account when the relationship ends.
The strongest agency for you is the one with the right skills, pricing and terms for the problem you actually have. If that problem is Google Ads for a Shopify store, see our PPC agency page or ask us for a free Google Ads account review, and see our top 10 PPC agencies in the UK if you need paid social or LinkedIn as well.
