Top 10 Video Marketing Agencies in the UK: A Curated Guide

MARKETING SOCIAL MEDIA
Top 10 Video Marketing Agencies in the UK: A Curated Guide

SHARE

Key Takeaways

  • Video agencies split into performance creative for social (The Social Shepherd), production companies with published prices (Bold Content, CMA Video), retail focused producers (Skylark Media), small senior crews (Hurricane, Vermillion Films, Manto Films), corporate and global programmes (Casual Films, Chocolate Films) and the agency that puts the video to work in the store (Why Matters).
  • Two of the nine publish prices: CMA Video from £2,000 plus VAT a project and £1,500 a month on retainer, and Bold Content in bands from £1,500 for interviews and UGC edits to £50,000 for brand films. Most projects at CMA Video cost £2,000 to £6,000.
  • Video sells most where it was not shot for: adding creator videos to Awake Organics' product pages lifted add to cart rate by 23%, and creator videos cut Halo Coffee's cost per sale on Meta by 27%.
  • One shoot should feed every channel: Skylark Media turned a single Yankee Candle production into more than 130 assets and a 9% sales uplift. Brief the cuts you need for Shopify, TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts and email before the camera rolls.
  • Know the specs: Shopify product videos can run to 10 minutes, 1 GB and 4K; TikTok in feed ads accept 9 by 16, 1 by 1 or 16 by 9 within 500 MB; YouTube Shorts run to three minutes vertical at 1080p.
  • Credentials are rare in production: Skylark Media is the only certified B Corp on the list, with Clearcast and AdSmart accreditation, and Chocolate Films is a social enterprise with a Royal Warrant. None states a Meta, TikTok, YouTube or Shopify partner tier.

Quick Answer

The right video marketing agency depends on what the video is for. For paid social creative and UGC look at The Social Shepherd; for a product or testimonial film at a published price at CMA Video or Bold Content; for retail campaigns measured in sales at Skylark Media; for strategy from a small senior crew at Hurricane, Vermillion Films or Manto Films; for global or values led programmes at Casual Films or Chocolate Films; and for a Shopify store that wants the video planned and put to work across the store, the ads and the email, Why Matters. Shortlist two or three, agree the rights and the cuts for every channel before the shoot, and ask what the last film did for sales.

Table of Contents

Video is where UK attention lives. Ofcom reports that adults spent four and a half hours a day online in May 2025, that YouTube reaches 94% of adult internet users for an average of 51 minutes a day, and that TikTok reaches 56% of online adults for 28 minutes a day, rising to 49 minutes among 18 to 34 year olds. For an online store that means product video on the page, creator video in the ads and short vertical cuts in every feed. The agencies below are the UK producers and creative teams we would shortlist, grouped by what they are for.

We profile ten agencies: one social first creative agency, six production companies of different sizes, two corporate and values led producers, and one Shopify agency that plans the video and puts it to work. Where an agency publishes prices or results we quote them as its own figures; where it does not, we say so.

A note on our own position. Why Matters is a Shopify agency and we appear in this list, labelled as our agency. We held ourselves to the same selection criteria as everyone else and describe our own services in the same format, so you can compare like with like. Details about other agencies come from their own websites and published case studies, so check them before you shortlist, because services, clients and fees change.

How We Selected These Agencies

We looked for UK based video agencies and production companies with live websites, named clients, published results or prices where they exist, stated credentials and a spread of locations. We read each agency's own website in October 2026 and used Companies House only for incorporation dates where a site gives no founding year. We excluded companies whose websites have lapsed or now redirect to unrelated businesses, and brands whose trading entity we could not identify. The list is not ranked, because a television commercial and a product demonstration for a Shopify page are not bought from the same supplier, and our own entry is labelled.

Why Matters (our agency)

Location: Brighton. Specialism: product video, creator video and social cuts for Shopify stores, put to work on product pages, in ads and in email. Notable clients: Halo Coffee, Awake Organics, HOLOS.

Why Matters is a Shopify agency rather than a video production company, and we say so at the top. We appear in this list because for an online store the question is rarely who can shoot a beautiful film; it is who will make sure the film sells. We plan the video a store needs, from product demonstrations and creator testimonials to the 9 by 16 cuts for ads, brief the people who shoot it, and then put it where it earns: on the product page, in the paid social, in the email flows and in the review widgets, reported against revenue.

Three results from our own clients show the shape of the work. Adding a series of creator videos to Awake Organics' product pages, with other social proof, lifted add to cart rate by 23%. Creator videos cut Halo Coffee's cost per sale on Meta by 27% between 2018 and 2021. And when we helped Halo Coffee with its rebrand and relaunch, Halo invested in specialist product photography and worked with the creative agency Uncommon, and conversion rate rose from 0.5% to 3% after the relaunched site went live, which shows what proper product imagery does when the store is built to carry it.

Our retainers start from £650 a month plus VAT and are published on our website. We are a Shopify Select partner with Verified Skills across development and marketing, and a Klaviyo, Recharge, Awin, Meta and TikTok partner. Retainer clients are billed one month in arrears and are not tied into long contracts, and development projects carry a 3 month guarantee.

Best for: Shopify stores that want video planned, produced and put to work across the store, the ads and the email by one team.

The Social Shepherd

Location: Bath, with a London hub and offices in New York and Miami. Specialism: social first agency producing organic and paid social video, UGC and performance creative for consumer brands, with a TikTok Shop service. Notable clients: UNIQLO, ASICS, Arla, Passenger, Lavazza. Website: The Social Shepherd website.

The Social Shepherd is a social media agency with production in house rather than a film company, and it is here because performance creative for paid social is what most ecommerce brands are actually buying. It was founded in 2018, has 74 people across four hubs and has been Best Large Social Media Agency at the UK Social Media Awards three years running. Its Passenger case study reports revenue up more than ten times since 2021 from full funnel paid media and performance creative, and it claims more than 100 million organic video views a year for clients, an agency wide figure. It states no platform partner tiers and does not publish prices.

Best for: consumer brands that want social video and performance creative made by the team that runs the ads.

Casual Films

Location: London, with studios in Amsterdam, Barcelona, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Sydney and Singapore. Specialism: B2B content strategy and corporate video production for global brands through nine in house studios in seven countries. Notable clients: GoDaddy, Prudential, Vodafone, HSBC. Website: Casual Films website.

Casual Films was started by two friends in 2006 and has topped the EVCOM Corporate Top 50 and its peer poll in 2023, 2024 and 2025, with a w3 Awards gold in 2025 for corporate communications. It is built for global corporate programmes: 100 short films for GoDaddy with a 34% engagement rate, and 13 films in 13 countries for Prudential in six weeks. For an ecommerce brand it is the right call when the brief is a content programme across markets rather than a product film. It states no partner or B Corp status and does not publish prices.

Best for: large brands that need a steady programme of films across several countries.

Hurricane

Location: Bristol, with a London presence. Specialism: video marketing and social content: brand films, social video, animation and video strategy for consumer, business and DTC brands. Notable clients: Costa, Huawei, AB InBev, Shelter, World Food Programme. Website: Hurricane website.

Hurricane is a small Bristol agency led by managing director Jon Mowat, with six people on its team page and 16 years of production behind it, and it sells strategy with the film: what the video is for, who sees it and what it should change. A client testimonial from Women's Aid credits its films with doubling a fundraising target, with 30% of donors new to the charity. Its site calls the agency award winning without naming the awards, says its pricing is open and fair without publishing figures, and gives no founding year or office address, so ask for all three.

Best for: brands that want video strategy and a small senior team rather than a production line.

Bold Content

Location: Liverpool Street, London. Specialism: video marketing: brand films, animation and corporate video, with published budget bands for each stage of the funnel. Notable clients: Snapchat, Pandora, Jameson, Ancestry, Colt Technology Services. Website: Bold Content website.

Bold Content was incorporated in 2013, has made more than 1,100 films in 43 countries and is the most transparent on cost of anyone here: it publishes the bands it works to, from £1,500 to £5,000 for interviews and UGC edits, £5,000 to £15,000 for explainers, case studies and testimonials, and £15,000 to £50,000 for brand and promotional films, with a full range of £1,500 to £200,000. Its Colt partnerships film was a Webby honoree and a LIT Commercial Awards platinum winner in 2022, and it holds a D&AD silver pencil. It gives 1% of its time to charity video through Pledge 1%. It publishes no client outcome figures and does not state team size.

Best for: brands that want a London production agency with the budget bands on the website before the first call.

Skylark Media

Location: Clifton, Bristol. Specialism: B Corp certified video production: television commercials, social content, animation and brand films built to drive sales. Notable clients: Yankee Candle, Lovehoney, Quooker, Samaritans, British Council. Website: Skylark Media website.

Skylark Media was founded in 2005 by Jo Haywood, who still leads it, and holds the best set of credentials on this list: certified B Corp, Clearcast accredited for television, AdGreen trained production and AdSmart accredited. Its results are retail results. Its Yankee Candle campaign reports a 9% Mother's Day sales uplift across more than 130 assets from a single production, and its British Council work turned 150 assets into 1.5 billion impressions and 64 million video views. Its about page mentions recognition from The Drum Awards without naming the award. Headcount is not stated. It does not publish prices.

Best for: retail and DTC brands that want one shoot turned into television, social and store assets with the sales measured.

Vermillion Films

Location: Birmingham and the West Midlands; fully remote since 2022. Specialism: creative video production: television commercials, brand films and branded content, between a brand consultancy and a film production company. Notable clients: Cadbury World, Land Rover, Bentley, Fuller's London Pride. Website: Vermillion Films website.

Vermillion Films was founded in 2011, worked from Birmingham and London until 2022 and now runs a small core team with freelancers, which keeps overheads down and senior people on the shoot. Its work spans automotive, confectionery and beer, and it offers video content retainers, although the retainer page lists no prices. No case study gives numbers, its founders are not named and the Clutch badge on its site is not explained in text, so ask for results and references. It does not publish prices.

Best for: Midlands brands that want television quality brand films from a lean senior crew.

Manto Films

Location: Leeds. Specialism: brand films, recruitment videos, social content and television adverts for UK brands. Notable clients: Yorkshire Tea, Taylors of Harrogate, Bettys, Asda Money, Cycling UK. Website: Manto Films website.

Manto Films is a six person Leeds company, incorporated in 2009, with a work archive that reads like a tour of Yorkshire's best known brands, from Yorkshire Tea and Taylors of Harrogate to Bettys. Its homepage names no clients, so the brands above come from project titles, and it publishes no awards, memberships or results, so ask for the numbers behind the films and a reference. It does not publish prices.

Best for: northern brands that want a small local crew with a strong regional portfolio.

Chocolate Films

Location: Battersea, London, with a Glasgow office and satellites in Berlin and New York. Specialism: independent full service video production and social enterprise: promos, documentaries, animation, training and event films. Notable clients: Jigsaw, The British Library, St John Ambulance, Supercell. Website: Chocolate Films website.

Chocolate Films has made films since 2001, employs more than 20 full time producers, filmmakers, animators and writers, and is a social enterprise and Living Wage employer that runs workshops for about 3,000 children and young people a year. It was granted a Royal Warrant in July 2025 and Green Mark accreditation in October 2026. Its client base leans to arts, heritage, charities and corporate work, with Jigsaw's flagship store opening the closest fit for retail. Its site calls the agency award winning without naming awards and publishes no marketing outcomes. It does not publish prices.

Best for: brands that want a values led production company for brand, documentary and event films.

CMA Video

Location: Colmore, Birmingham. Specialism: corporate video production: promotional, testimonial, training and event films, with published package prices and an online cost calculator. Notable clients: Amazon, Brooks Running, SEA LIFE, Aston University. Website: CMA Video website.

CMA Video has produced in Birmingham since 2000 and publishes its prices in full: a focused package from £2,000 plus VAT for one filming day at one location with edit, grade and sound mix, a standard package at £3,500 to £6,000 for fuller pre production and motion graphics, complex projects from £6,000, and an example retainer from £1,500 a month for one shoot day and two to three edited videos with social cuts. Its FAQ says most projects cost £2,000 to £6,000. Its site uses green hosting and shows verified reviews, but its clients appear as logos rather than case studies and it publishes no results or team size.

Best for: stores that want a product or testimonial film at a published price, or a monthly shoot day on retainer.

How to Choose the Right Video Marketing Agency

Three checks before you hire a video agency Will you own the footage and the rights to use it? No: you pay again next year Yes Are the cuts for every channel in the price? No: the film is half finished Yes Can it show what the last film did for sales? No: it is selling views, not revenue Yes Yes to all three: send the brief and agree the fee
Three checks we would make before hiring any video marketing agency. Why Matters, October 2026.
  • Who owns the footage? The contract should give you the finished films and the raw footage, with music and talent cleared for every channel and territory you will use, including paid ads. Ask what happens to usage rights after a year and whether creators or presenters have signed releases.
  • Which cuts are included? A brand film without a 9 by 16 cut, a 15 second version and a silent version with captions is half finished. Brief the Shopify product page, TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts and email cuts before the shoot, and ask how many are in the price.
  • What did the last film do? Views are the platform's number. Yours are add to cart rate on the page the video sits on, cost per acquisition on the ads it ran in and sales during the campaign. Skylark Media and The Social Shepherd publish those; ask every agency for the same.
  • Crew or creators? A professional crew wins on brand films and product demonstrations; creators win on social proof and ad volume. Adding a series of creator videos to Awake Organics' product pages, with other social proof, lifted add to cart rate by 23%; most stores need both, and should brief them together.
  • Is the price in writing? CMA Video and Bold Content publish their ranges; the rest quote by project. Ask what a shoot day costs, what post production and revisions are included, and whether the retainer buys a monthly shoot day or just edits.
  • Does it know ecommerce? Ask for a product film that sits on a live product page and what it did to conversion. When we helped Halo Coffee with its rebrand and relaunch, Halo invested in specialist product photography and worked with the creative agency Uncommon, and conversion rate rose from 0.5% to 3% after the relaunched site went live, and video on a page that is not built to carry it does nothing.

What Should Video Production Cost?

Two of the nine other agencies on this list publish prices. CMA Video charges from £2,000 plus VAT for a focused package of one filming day at one location, £3,500 to £6,000 for a standard package with fuller pre production and motion graphics, and from £6,000 for complex multi day projects, with an example retainer from £1,500 a month; it says most projects cost £2,000 to £6,000. Bold Content publishes the bands it works to: £1,500 to £5,000 for interviews and UGC edits, £5,000 to £15,000 for explainers, case studies and testimonials, £15,000 to £50,000 for brand and promotional films, and up to £200,000 for high end commercials, and it quotes the APA recommended day rate for a director of photography at £783 to £1,308, which it says it often negotiates below. The others quote by project, and a London social video producer we checked but did not list quotes projects from £5,000 to £10,000 and above.

For comparison, our own prices are published: retainers start from £650 a month plus VAT, and video planning and creator content are normally part of a retainer because the same assets feed the product pages, the ads and the email. Our guide to product photography for ecommerce covers the stills side of the same brief. Whatever you pay, insist on a report that shows what the video did for conversion and cost per acquisition, not for views.

Video Specs for Shopify, TikTok and YouTube

Brief the technical limits before the shoot so nothing has to be reshot. Shopify product videos can be up to 10 minutes long, up to 1 GB and up to 4K at 4096 by 2160 pixels, in MP4, MOV or WebM, and 3D models must be GLB or USDZ files up to 500 MB; Shopify says displaying them needs a theme that supports video and 3D media, or a theme modification that a Shopify Partner can make.

TikTok in feed video ads accept 9 by 16, 1 by 1 or 16 by 9 aspect ratios in MP4, MOV, MPEG or AVI within 500 MB, with a bitrate of at least 516 kbps and a suggested minimum resolution of 720 by 1280 pixels. YouTube Shorts can be up to three minutes long, are uploaded vertical and play at a maximum of 1080p. Our guide to Instagram Reels dimensions and safe zones covers Meta, and Meta's own ads guide has the current feed video specifications. Ask the agency to deliver every cut in every format in the brief, with captions burned in for silent viewing.

Why Matters Perspective

Our view is that most stores buy video as a film and should buy it as a system: one shoot, planned around the product page, the ads, the email and the review widget, with every cut listed before the camera rolls. Adding a series of creator videos to Awake Organics' product pages, with other social proof, lifted add to cart rate by 23%, and creator videos cut Halo Coffee's cost per sale on Meta by 27% between 2018 and 2021. Neither result came from a brand film; both came from short creator videos used in the places where shoppers decide.

We also see what imagery does when the store is built to carry it. When we helped Halo Coffee with its rebrand and relaunch, Halo invested in specialist product photography and worked with the creative agency Uncommon, and conversion rate rose from 0.5% to 3% after the relaunched site went live. All of our clients have Facebook or Instagram Shops connected and they bring sales, more than TikTok, with beauty and cosmetics brands doing best on Facebook Shop, so the same video works there too. We are a Shopify Select partner with Verified Skills across development and marketing, and a Klaviyo, Recharge, Awin, Meta and TikTok partner. Retainer clients are billed one month in arrears and are not tied into long contracts, and development projects carry a 3 month guarantee. See our Shopify design page or email us.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a video production agency cost in the UK?

Published prices on this list run from £2,000 plus VAT for a one day shoot at CMA Video, which says most of its projects cost £2,000 to £6,000, to Bold Content's bands of £1,500 to £5,000 for interviews and UGC edits, £5,000 to £15,000 for explainers and testimonials and £15,000 to £50,000 for brand films. Retainers start around £1,500 a month for a monthly shoot day. Most agencies quote by project.

What is the difference between a video production company and a video marketing agency?

A production company shoots and edits what you brief. A video marketing agency decides what the video is for, who will see it, where it will run and how it will be measured, then produces or commissions it. Several agencies on this list do both; a Shopify agency adds the step of putting the video to work on the store, in the ads and in email.

How long does it take to produce a brand or product video?

A single day shoot with a simple edit can be delivered in two to three weeks. A brand film with pre production, a crew, motion graphics and three rounds of amends usually takes six to eight weeks. Creator videos come back in two to three weeks. Build in time for your own review and for cutting the versions each channel needs.

Who owns the footage and the rights to the finished video?

Whatever the contract says, so read it. Ask for ownership of the finished films and the raw footage, music licensed for every channel and territory you will use, including paid ads, and signed releases from presenters and creators. Check whether any rights expire after a year and what a renewal costs.

What should I put in a video brief?

What the video is for and the number it should move; who will see it and where, with every cut and format listed; the product and the claims you can and cannot make; the tone and references; the budget band; the deadline; and who signs off. A brief that names the Shopify page, the TikTok ad and the email it will live in gets a better film than one that asks for a brand video.

How do you measure the return on video marketing?

By what changes where the video runs: add to cart and conversion rate on the product page before and after it is added, cost per acquisition on the ads it appears in against your other creative, click and revenue in the emails that carry it, and sales during a campaign against the same period without it. Views and completion rate are diagnostics, not results.

Should I use UGC style creators or a professional crew for product videos?

Both, for different jobs. A crew gives you the product demonstration, the brand film and the television quality assets that make a store look established. Creators give you social proof and the volume of variations paid social needs. Adding creator videos to one client's product pages lifted add to cart rate by 23%, and creator videos cut another client's cost per sale on Meta by 27%.

Final Thoughts

The best video marketing agencies agree the rights and the cuts before the shoot, price the work in writing, know the specs of every channel and can tell you what the last film did for sales. Use this list to build a shortlist of two or three that match the job, and compare their briefs and their terms before their showreels.

If you run a Shopify store and want video planned, produced and put to work across the store, the ads and the email, see our Shopify design page and our guide to user generated content for Shopify brands, or email us.
